Imagined Refuges is a sculptural sustainable piece made from upcycled materials including steam bent oak and Kombucha leather. It has come about due to the emotional stress caused by global warming and our fracture with natural processes. The work is inspired by the Eco philosopher Glenn Albrecht. Spaces seen in rock folds has led to the making of imagined resting refuges. Here a person could remember and contemplate our present and past lives along with our shared relationships with fellow creatures and the earth. We could then dream different approaches to sharing the future.
